Introducing Winter Triathlon

Winter triathlon involves a run, mountain bike and cross country ski (langlauf) – all on snow. Course distances are set on the day to achieve a winning time of around 80-90 minutes, taking into account the latest snow conditions. New challenges are presented at each race and wonderful opportunities are there for those seeking to explore their next multisport horizon.

In 2018 in the Romanian town of Cheile Gradistei, Russia’s Pavel Andreev and Yulia Surikova were crowned World Champions.

For novice Age Group athletes, it is certainly recommended to learn how to balance and propel oneself on cross-country skis. Opportunities can be found wherever there are langlauf pistes via the relevant continental langlauf or Nordic ski associations.
